So I'm back trying to motivate myself to finish D6 Arabia, maybe using Brent's 8 page worlds format.

Pulp Arabia for D6
Been sifting through the free conversion stuff for Al-Qadim.
A) It has put me off 2nd ED for the second time
B) Guys, you are really over thinking the process
C) Jinn are not monsters.
I'm still confounded by a spell list and the nature of jinn NPCs.

An Al-Qadim Feel
Unfortunately for my mindset, what little gaming I've done this past year has been in egroups using retro-clones. Which is fine in and of itself, but every time I set down Pulp Arabia rules they have a Al-Qadim feel.

Reconsidering the Dervish
I discontinued the Dervish class/cliche because it was modeled, and played, on the CD&D mystic and 1st ed monk. I still have a bug up my butt about Al-Qadim, although my friend Ben is working on getting me to let go of the past.
Which is good, there is a lot to lift from Al-Qadim.
The Dervish cliche would be more ascetic Mind Over Matter - Force of Will, no spell casting like the monk/mystic, and thief skills would be taken as another cliche.
Skills in Cliche: Arcane Knowledge, Heightened Senses, Uncanny Intuition, Physical Feats. Weapons restricted to spear, staff, and sword.
